That B5 — and your listing efforts — are way too good for CL. I would think in CO you could just park in front of the nearest grocery store and have it sold by the end of the day (seriously, though, this has worked better than CL for me 100% of the time, plus no endless lowballers and random texters).

Nice Golf, but you’re missing a couple doors :D (my dad always gets sick me saying this about his 2004 R).

it’s been listed since friday, the interest has been HIGH! and at least two were from folks who just spotted it in the wild with a for sale sign. I suspect it wont last long.

the owner of the R’s significant other has a 2016 GTI with all the doors you need. So the R is filling a niche :D

At least this one has a sunroof which for whatever reason VW refuses to offer on the MkVII in the US.

I agree — the ad has photos, and a description that can be read aloud without sounding like broken english and lies.

When I had a MK6 R, I always cringed when I saw bagged R’s.

Congrats man, you’ll love it. I sure loved mine! (had a 2012, white 4-door).

The motor and drivetrain are solid, I just have a bit of advice from my ownership experiences:

-The only real issue with the motor in my opinion is the cam follower for the high pressure fuel pump. If you intend to stay on stock tuning, I would inspect it for wear every 20k miles. Tune it and you’ll want to check it every 5k-10k miles. It’s a cheap part and a very easy job to replace (even easier if you use an aftermarket intake). Let this little piece fail and you have a very expensive repair job.

-If you do go with an aftermarket intake, make sure it is one that keep the factory fuel trims within tolerance. There was a big problem where most of the aftermarket intakes had different dimensions at the maf sensor from the stock piping, and it was messing with the fuel trims, causing loss of power. I recommend the Neuspeed P-Flo if you are okay with an open element filter. Cheap, excellent construction, good fuel trims and (if you care) carries a CARB exemption number.

-If you tune it, you’ll need a clutch by 75k miles. I was only on Stage 1 GIAC with a P-Flo and it was slipping at anything past second gear with full boost.

- I hated the soundaktor in mine, so I unplugged it within a week of purchase. To do this you have to remove the wiper arms and the cowl.

- You can pinch the vacuum hose for the muffler flap if you want to keep the muffler open all the time. I did this for a while, but got tired of the drone on the highway.

As an owner of a ‘13 R I agree with these statements. The Soundrakator can be unplugged without tearing everything apart though. And I can’t wait to go stage 2...

All you need is

No lowballerz. I know what I’m having!!!!!!

Seriously this is a nice car. I’d trade you a broken mini (sarcasm) if you do free shipping to Athens. Was in the market for one of these then was reminded of problems.
